Will my roof have a guarantee?
All of our new Cherwell Roofing roofs come with a standard 10 year warranty on both the materials and workmanship underwritten by the manufacturer. Longer warranties of 15, 20 and 25 years are also available on request.
How long will the roofing work take?
Obviously it depends on what area, specification (if the decking also requires replacing) and weather conditions as to how long each piece of roofing work will take. In all cases Cherwell Roofing will not leave a roof open to the elements and would use temporary night seals to safeguard against water ingress.
Can you prove you are a professional , trustworthy company?
Firstly Cherwell Roofing are a member of the Guild of Master Craftsmen who support and promote integrity, quality and service to the trade and public alike. We also have previous customers testimonials and a list of commercial clients who have experienced our personal, reliable and professional approach to our work. Our underwritten guarantee not only warrants the materials but also any workmanship which gives you the assurance that we have to know what we are doing. As a family business with over 30 years experience we consider it essential that we maintain our excellent reputation and that all of our work is carried out in accordance with the necessary regulations.
My roof requires insulating as well as renewing, can this be done at the same time?
Most flat roofs are under insulated and with rising fuel costs conserving energy is more relevant than ever before. There are many options for achieving better roof insulation and our expertise in this area allows us to evaluate which system will be best for your circumstances providing you with peace of mind now and in to the future.
My flat roof ‘ponds’ water, what can you do to prevent this happening in the future?
Flat roofs have unjustly gathered a bad reputation for gathering water however there are normally one of three preventable explanations for why this happens – poor design, cheap materials or sub-standard workmanship.
Things have come a long way since the late 50’s / early 60’s in terms of roofing materials. At Cherwell Roofing we use a 3 layer, high performance, elastomeric system incorporating both pour and roll, hot bitumen and torch-on felts. Designs can be altered and with a better understanding of what is and what isn’t viable and what does and doesn’t work, we can improve a poorly designed roof to cost-effectively prevent water ‘pooling’.
Workmanship depends on each individual company. All Cherwell Roofing roofing contractors are full time and we do not employ sub-contractors or unproven, unskilled labour. Every member of our team is fully trained and certified and as a memeber of The Guild of Master Craftsmen we are obligated to maintain the industry practices and standards.
Do I have to be there when the roof work is taking place?
If you prefer to be there when the work is taking place then no problem howver we can arrange access beforehand and have our own power generators if required so access inside the house is not normally necessary.
Our workforce are all trustworthy individuals with impeccable past historys – as they are required to be when working on our Ministry of Defence site contracts!
Are you expensive?
No. Comparing us with other companies which offer a similar service to our own we find that Cherwell Roofing offers very competitive rates. Our roofs are expected to last for at least 30 years and we can offer our customers better rates because we buy our materials in volume and are able to offer these discounted rates on to our clients.
Of course you will always find a company who will be able to provide you with a cheaper quotation. We normally come across their work anything from a month to 7-8 years after completion when we have been asked to make good their bad workmanship and cheap materials. The choice is yours!
